FAQ

Common questions

How many touch points should my device support?

Most phones and tablets support 5 to 10 points. Many touch laptops support 10.

The count never goes past 3 or 4.

Some browsers reserve multi-finger gestures, which can cancel touches. Turn off system gestures or accessibility touch features for this test.

How to test multitouch?

Open this page on your phone or tablet and place several fingers on the screen at once. A counter shows how many touch points are detected, and each finger is drawn on screen. Add fingers one by one until the count stops rising. Most modern phones and tablets handle at least 5 to 10 touch points.

Multi Touch Test: what it checks and how to read it

How multi touch detection works

Every finger that touches the screen creates a pointer. This test numbers each one, draws a circle at its position and remembers the highest count. Most phones track five to ten points. If your count stops at three or four, a screen protector, case or accessibility gesture setting may be interfering. Pair it with the touch screen test for a full digitizer check.
