FAQ

Common questions

Why does it not vibrate on my iPhone?

Safari on iPhone does not support the web Vibration API, so this test cannot run there. Use the built-in Haptics settings instead.

It says unsupported on my laptop.

Most desktops have no vibration motor. Open the page on a phone or tablet.

Why is nothing happening on Android?

Check that touch vibration is enabled in system settings, battery saver is off, and the page was interacted with, since browsers require a tap first.

Is this a vibration test system for machines?

No. Industrial vibration test systems are specialised shakers for products and machinery. This tool only checks the vibration motor in phones, tablets and controllers.

Guide

Vibration Test: what it checks and how to read it

Phone vibration test on Android

The phone vibration test uses the browser Vibration API. Tap Short buzz, Long buzz, Double tap, SOS or Heartbeat, or write your own pattern in milliseconds. Make sure silent mode, battery saver and do-not-disturb are off and that touch vibration is enabled in system settings. This vibration test phone check works in Chrome, Edge and Firefox on Android.

iPhone and other devices

Safari on iPhone does not support the web Vibration API, so this page cannot trigger the motor there. Use the haptics options in iPhone Settings instead. Desktops have no vibration motor, so open the page on a phone or tablet.

Controller vibration test

To check a gamepad motor, open the controller test and press Test rumble. It uses the Gamepad API, which is separate from the phone API on this page.

Vibration test systems explained

Searches for vibration test systems often mean industrial shakers that test machines and parts. This page is not that. It is a simple consumer test for the vibration motor in a phone or tablet and the rumble in a game controller.
